User Management for Pharmacy POS System
Effective user management is essential to preserving security, guaranteeing appropriate access control, and using features like commission agents in a pharmacy Point of Sale (POS) system. This article covers three important topics in detail: using the Commission Agent Feature, Role Management, and Adding Users and Assigning Locations.
-
Role Management
-
Adding Roles:
Default roles—Admin and Cashier—are established upon initiating a new business. The Admin possesses all permissions within the application, while the Cashier is limited to the POS section. Creating a new role involves clicking the ‘Add’ button, providing a role name, and selecting appropriate permissions. Users may be assigned access to specific locations through the “Access locations” permission, and roles can be edited or deleted. Note that updating a user’s role is necessary before deleting it.

Adding Users and Assigning Locations
-
Adding Users:
Navigate to User Management -> Users -> Add New to include new users. Fill in user details, select a user role, and assign a unique username. Optionally, set the Sales Commission Percentage if the commission agent feature is enabled. Activate or deactivate users as needed. Users can be edited or deleted, and maximum sales discounts and login restrictions can be imposed.

Using Commission Agent Feature
-
Enabling and Choosing Commission Agent Type:
Commission Agent functionality is turned off by default. Please enable it in Settings -> Business Settings -> Sales. Users can choose from three types:
Logged-in User: Automatically considers the logged-in user as the commission agent for their sales.
Select from User’s List: Allows users to select the commission agent from a list of users.
Select from Commission Agent List: Enables users to choose a commission agent from a list of predefined agents.
-
Adding Commission Percentage:
Commission percentages can be added while adding or editing a user or sales commission agent.
-
Calculating Commission Amount:
To view commission amounts, access Reports -> Sales Representative Report. Select the user for whom you want to see the commission amount. The report displays a detailed summary of Total Sales, Total Sale Commission, and Total Expenses, with a table listing all transactions.
This comprehensive guide empowers users to manage roles, add users efficiently, and leverage the commission agent feature in a pharmacy POS system, ensuring streamlined operations and enhanced functionality.
